Internships

ACCNJ participates in the Construction Industry Advancement Program of New Jersey’s Student Summer Employment Program and Scholarships.  The program provides opportunities for students to work with contractors engaged in heavy, highway, utility and commercial construction.  Prospective students complete an online application and must be current sophomores or juniors, provide supporting documentation and participate in an interview process with the CIAP Scholarship Committee.  Students selected as eligible for the program must secure employment with a CIAP supporting association’s member company, work 12 weeks over the summer, and provide a write up of their experience.  To assist in the process of getting an internship, CIAP requires selected students to attend a Career Fair in January.  Students have an opportunity to interview with some of the top firms in the Construction Industry.  The employment experience provides a mutual benefit to the student and the construction contractor employer by developing practical job skills for construction education graduates.
